Manganese Division	Manganese	Nchwaning Mine	Mine, washing and	Manganese ore is mined in the Black Rock area of the

				produced at the Cato Ridge Works in KwaZulu-Natal.
		Gloria Mine	Mine, washing and	Cato Ridge Alloys, a joint venture with Japanese
			screening	partners, produces refined ferromanganese at the
		Cato Ridge	Ferromanganese	Cato Ridge Works. Feed for the Cato Ridge Works
		Works	smelting	is derived from Assmang’s manganese mines and

SUBSIDIARY COMPANIES
Rustenburg Minerals		Rustenburg	Mine and	Chrome ore is mined near Rustenburg in open-cast

				of developing two decline shafts which, when in
				productionn early 2009, will replace the existing
				open-cast operations.

			synthetic	operates from premises in Linbro Park on the outskirts
			diamonds	of Johannesburg under the name of Xertech. All
				production is currently for export.
Ore and Metal Company	n/a	Ore and metal	Marketing and	Ore and Metal Company Limited is responsible for the
			shipping of products	marketing and shipping of all the group’s products,
				including those produced by the three divisions of
				Assmang. Strong relationships have been established
				with customers in Europe, North America, South
				America, India and the Far East.
Minerais U.S. LLC	n/a	Minerais	Marketing of minerals	Minerais U.S. LLC is responsible for marketing and
			and alloys in USA	sales administration of the group’s products in the USA,
				in particular manganese and chrome alloys, and trades
				in various related commodities.
African Mining and Trust	n/a	African Mining	Exploration and	African Mining and Trust Company Limited is technical
