The Vision and Mission of the Academy:
Vision:
To prepare and empower students for the economy of South Africa by providing quality education and training to break the cycle of benefit dependency and increase efficiency in the workplace.
Mission:
Helping individuals to identify and achieve their development, growth and career goals.
To provide students with professional, practical and positive learning experiences to cultivate competent, effective and valuable professionals.
To empower students to maximise their career opportunities and academic pathways.
To design, develop and market top-quality educational and training services by adapting modern training methodology and selectively recruiting staff with the best qualifications and experience.
The Academy consists of five faculties; Tertiary Education Preparation Programme (KYB TEPP), Technical Training (KYB Tech), Teacher training (ALSE), Graduate support & development (KYB Grads) and Bursary Fund & Administration.
KYB TEPP is a comprehensive academic curriculum designed to equip students with the foundational knowledge and skills required for a successful career in various engineering and education fields. Dedicated to bridging the gap between secondary education and tertiary studies, the programme is uniquely designed to empower young South Africans with the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to excel.
KYB ALSE Programme aims to address the scarcity of skilled educators in rural areas by offering bursaries to aspiring individuals pursuing teaching careers. With a focus on Mathematics, Science, and English, it aims to enhance teaching standards and address critical skill gaps within these subjects.
KYB Grad program is designed to address the gaps in student support and assistance. Many students lack the necessary psychosocial support to navigate the challenges of their university journey, which often comes with significant academic pressures. The support and services aim to provide essential funding, resources, skills, and assistance, tailored to each student’s individual needs. By empowering these students, KYB enables them to overcome obstacles and achieve their academic goals.
KYB Bursary Fund and Administration addresses the complex financial and procurement systems that make on-time payments to various institutions and students difficult and time-consuming. Organizations struggle with this, as they do not have the dedicated workforce to request, evaluate and summarize the information needed for timely feedback and payment. Therefore, KYB provides the administration and services of the monetary investment for that student on behalf of their bursar throughout their academic journey.
